The UK’s Technology Strategy Board is running a £4.5m competition for research into ‘smart’ energy use in homes. The deadline is June 30, 2010.
The TSB is primarily interested in projects that look at the effect on consumer demand of integrating smart technologies into the home. It says: “There are untested risks which might slow the adoption and development of smart technology along all parts of the value chain, even though many of the technologies that can contribute to the smart grid system are already developed.”
Details of TSB research and development funding opportunities can be found at the Competitions page of the Technology Strategy Board website. There is also a competitions helpline on 0300 321 4357.
